I haven't written much about the last few months of life and all, so here are some highlights:
Waay back in April, we had our annual youth group camping trip. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate and we got snowed out after the first night (first snow of the year in early April!) It was a good time still and everyone still had a great attitude, despite the freezing temps.
Also in April got to catch a Matt Kearney concert @ the Norva
Early May was Dave's wedding! Congrats guys!
Late May was Lynchburg Conference 2007! My first time coordinating a retreat of that size, stressful, but a privilege. Everything was amazing, and it was great to see so many youth convicted and excited to seek God. Check out the MySpace and Facebook for more pics and thoughts.
Here is the slideshow including pics from the Photo Scavenger Hunt, which had some really awesome shots (great job guys!)
After Lynchburg Conference, Judy and I had a chance to take a much needed vacation. We had received a vacation package as a gift as well as round trip airfare, so it was nearly a free vacation overall! It was also like the honeymoon we never really had aside from the roadtrip.
So here we are in beautiful St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands.
Coki Beach, St. Thomas
This is Trunk Bay Beach, St. John, which is consistently voted as one of the top 10 most beaches in the world.
One of the highlights was taking a private chartered boat cruise (with good food!) that stopped at two different islands for snorkeling. It's always been a dream of mine to snorkel in the Carribean and see all the reef fish. It was amazing seeing with schools of Sergeant Majors, a Queen Angelfish and a stingray.
St. Thomas was amazing and really does feel like paradise, but its also sad to see such poverty just across the street from the fancy restaurants. It made us rethink how we vacation and reminded us how we take for granted our prosperity here in the US.
July 4th was fun with my brother and sister in law visiting, we took a trip to Busch Gardens.
The Griffin is probably one of the scariest coasters I've ever ridden.
